News providers in Canada are still unable to post on platforms such as Facebook due to the Online News Act, passed in June of 2023. Local and regional journalists are writing and publishing content but cannot share their articles on some of the popular social media outlets. Residents are encouraged to be mindful of that when consuming information online, and to keeping getting their local news from recognized sources via official websites, radio, television and newspaper content.
